這句話不能直接以字面上翻，這樣真的會變成台灣的「一盞燈」或「一道光」了。「台灣之光」指的是對台灣有所貢獻，值得被讚揚的人事物，我們會用：pride (n.) 自豪，得意

sick (adj.) 雖然可以指某人生病了、不舒服，但同時也有負面的意義，是在「責罵」某個人為何做出不合理的行為。
若稍微修正前面的句子→ “Are you feeling sick?” 就比較不容易誤解了！
A: How are you feeling, Joseph? You look pale.（你還好嗎？你臉色好蒼白。）
B: I caught a cold last Sunday and I’m still recovering.（我上週日感冒了，而且還在復原當中。）

3. 降低成本

最直觀的說法就是這個字，在公司裡面多多少少都會中英夾雜的使用，可是聽在老外耳裡，這句的文法卻是錯的。
cost (n.) 作為花費、成本之意，前面要加上配合的動詞或動詞片語來表示：
cut back/down on something 減少、削減
lower (v.) 降低、減少

如果要把「降低成本」作為一個名詞放在句子裡，則可以用 cost reduction：

4. 查字典

直接中翻英，標準的台式英文，錯在哪呢？look up 這個詞是及物動詞，假如說後面直接加上 dictionary，就會變成在查詢「字典」這樣物品囉！
If you don’t know what the word means, look it up in the dictionary.（假如你不知道這個字的意思，查查字典吧。）
5. 小吃

夜市、路邊攤…這些台灣獨有的小吃文化，非一般的餐廳，也不是包裝好的零食，到底該怎麼翻譯呢？
其實「小吃」沒有特定的詞，因為西方沒有小吃這樣的文化，維基百科對「台灣小吃」的定義為：台灣生活與文化街頭特色食物的總稱，我們就可以把它翻為 local dishes / street food。
CNN reported that braised pork rice the No.1 Taiwanese street food.（CNN 報導指出滷肉飯是台灣小吃中的第一名。）
