Well, I did go to China for a little bit, I was in a high school and I heard people there who were named “Zero” and “Echo”.

There was someone at the school who was also named Gandalf.

I think that something to consider when you are picking a name is whether or not you really wanna go abroad.

Especially if you are going to go to an English speaking country. Having a name like Apple, or Candy or Abcde. a b c d e
Abcde

Is going to affect how people will perceive you.

It can make things like getting a job or studying somewhere much more difficult, especially if English isn’t your first language, people will make assumptions about that.

And if you are going to go into high school and you have a really weird name and it’s possible that you could even be bullied for it.

And that doesn’t mean you have to have a boring name. There are lots of really interesting English names out there that don’t get used very often.

Like Flannery or some of the older names that maybe have gone out of fashion that people are still familiar with.

But I think that you should definitely consider picking something that people will recognize as a name.

Probably pick a name that isn’t a noun or an adjective, like sweet、candy、apple.

1.

Hi, my name is Sam. Today I’m gonna share some interesting English names I’ve heard.

I have heard some unusual English names. For example, Coffee, Ferrari, Circle, Boss, Ocean, Eating, Yellow, Diamond. For a boy.

2.

I’ve stayed in Taiwan for 8 years, I’ve heard many people use fruits to be their English names.

Cherry is probably the most popular one. Apple is another great one, Pear, Kiwi, Peach.
Cherry(櫻桃)也是最常聽到的,然後Apple(蘋果)也很常,還有梨子、奇異果、桃子

I think it’s because they just translate their nicknames straight into English.

Well, Pear and Peach...it’s pretty interesting.

3.

I think that having a name like Shakria or Oprah or Kobe.

Someone who’s very known in the United States, Taiwan or anywhere.

It’s hard to have a name that people relate so strongly to a specific person.

But for example, Alyssa from Frozen was a name before Frozen was a famous movie.

So I think that that’s ok.

That said, I’d still avoid naming your child LeBron, maybe, because a little too specific.
